Certified and Primary Standards
Primary Standards
These mixtures are made gravimetrically on high accuracy, high capacity balances using NSIT Traceable weights. They can be reactive or non-reactive components of the customer's choice, as long as the components are compatible. Possible concentrations are dependant only on the necessity to be high enough to weigh on the balance. The mixture can contain any number of components. The final concentrations are calculated directly from component weights and confirmed by final alalysis.
Certified Standards
These mixtures are prepared by either the gravimetric or partial pressure methods. They are analyzed against either NIST Traceable or Primary Standards. They can be reactive or non-reactive components and any number of components as long as there is not inter-reaction. Concentrations are only limited to what can be analyzed with available instrumentation.
